So I turned to the back of the Bible which gives us verses to flip to for insight. One of the verses for "if you are sick or in pain" was in James 5:13-16. It says, " Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well, the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective."
After reading this, I decided to take action.
I interpreted the elders of the church to be the pastors of the church. I also thought that there was no time to lose, I was not able to wait till Saturday's service to ask the Pastors to pray for me. For if I didn't recover before Saturday, I would need to be hospitalised. So I decided to drop Pastor Charissa an SMS to tell her about my problem and ask if she could pray for me. She said Yes! She also told me to go get a good night's rest and not worry anymore. And so, I decided, okay God, I believe in you and I believe that the Holy Bible is true. If what James said was in the Bible, that what James said is true. I believe God, you can heal me. I also asked God to forgive me if my attitude towards healing or anything else in the past has been bad.
That night, I slept as soundly as a baby, and woke up in the morning, to feel a very much lighter left arm. I was excited, and I checked my t-shirt and was actually pleased to find blood stains on the left sleeve. I knew immediately that a miracle had taken place! There was a breakthrough. On Wednesday, I shared with my Doctor that I think the reason for the 90% improvement was because of God. I also shared with my Grandma, a pre-believer, that it was through prayer and doing what the Bible said to do that my condition improved tremendously.
