cell outreach @ sam's
for those who weren't there, we had kfc and canadian pizza for dinner! xianjie's friend, alfred came ard 2030 and then we 'lao yu sheng' ... we decided not to continue with the skit so tat alfred wun feel awkward... towards the end, we played a game which xj came up with... i'll let the pics tell the story

idioms
The Bible is full of Hebrew & Greek Idioms which can make
understanding God's Holy Word difficult in many verses throughout
the Old & New Testaments. So today we will take a look at some
of these Idioms to gain a better understanding of how much they
can change the English meaning of some verses.
The following verses are a few examples of this:
GENESIS 19:26, speaking of Lott's wife, "BUT HIS WIFE LOOKED
BACK BEHIND HIM, AND SHE BECAME A PILLAR OF SALT."
(Pillar of Salt) meaning lifeless; stricken dead.
DEUTERONOMY 32:33 "THEIR WINE IS THE POISON OF
SERPENTS, AND THE CRUEL VENOM OF COBRAS."
Meaning Pagan teaching; corrupt practices and slanderous
actions. In this verse Moses was speaking of Enemy Nations'
like Sodom & Gomorrah, thus Nations which were cruel,
immoral and corruptive!
2 SAMUEL 22:9 "SMOKE WENT UP FROM HIS NOSTRILS;"
Idiom meaning very angry, enraged!
JOB 15:2 "FILL HIS BELLY WITH THE EAST WIND.
Idiom meaning he was proud, bragging, boasting.
PSALM 29:10 "THE LORD SITTETH UPON THE FLOOD."
Idiom meaning that God is in control. He crushes the armies
of the enemy.
PROVERBS 23:34 "LIETH DOWN IN THE MIDST OF THE SEA."
Idiom meaning Lost; in a dilemma; senseless; in doubt.
ECCLESIASTES 4:2 "CAST THY BREAD UPON THE WATER
AND THOU SHALL FIND IT."
Idiom meaning to give generously to charities and it shall be
given back to you.
Note: Ecclesiastes, Chapter 12 in filled with Idioms in all

ISAIAH 2:10 "ENTER INTO THE ROCK, AND HIDE IN THE DUST."
Idiom meaning take refuge in a cave; flee for your life.
MATTHEW 5:29 "IF THY RIGHT EYE OFFEND THEE PLUCK IT
OUT."
Idiom meaning If you have a habit of envying others, stop it.
MATTHEW 5:30 "CUT YOUR HAND OFF."
Idiom meaning to stop stealing!
MATTHEW 5:39 " WHOSOEVER SHALL SMITE THEE ON THY
RIGHT CHEEK, TURN TO HIM THE OTHER ALSO."
Idiom meaning Don't start an argument or fight. Instead be
humble.
MARK 14:22 "EAT MY BODY."
Idiom meaning Share my sufferings. Make my teachings part
of you. Think of me when you celebrate the Passover!
MARK 14:24 "DRINK MY BLOOD."
Idiom also meaning make my teachings part of your life. Be
willing to suffer for my truth. Think of me when you celebrate
the Passover!
MARK 16:18 "DRINK ANY DEADLY THING."
Idiom meaning live a clean life so if others attack your
character
no one will believe them!

hey guys,
thought i should share sth coool with you all.
today, i attended a briefing held by my uni.
and i amazingly got to know 2 people.
one's gg to stay in the same hall as me.
and the other's gg to be in the same course as i am.
i've prayed for true real friends as i go over.
and these 2 are really GOD sent.
in the short time tt i spent with them, it was alot of helping each other and clarifying whatever doubts we have about the procedures we have to get done etc, instead of getting stuck after the initial "so how old are you?" kind of questions.
i feel that its God's way of reminding me that He's with me as i go over and that with Him, i will be able to overcome whatever big small problem that comes my way.
and also, i un-intentionally found out that both of them are non-believers.
which was also a reminder that i'm not just gg over to be happy, study, graduate and come back.
i'm excited that He's got sth in store for me :D in that place, some miles away.
i pray for courage and wisdom for the right words.
cos alot of times i just melt into a pool of human lard and miss out on telling others what God has done in my life.
THANK GOD FOR HIS FAITHFULNESS :DD and HIS LOVE for the imperfect us.

Chinese New Year Outreach
Hey everyone!
CNY is coming and we are holding a CNY outreach! Woohoo! email is pretty long but bear with me and go thru it!
Tentatively
Time: 1st of Feb (Fri)
Location: Franco's condo function room (Mr Franco take note!!! I'll let you know again if there is any changes)
Position/Roles
Attendance IC: Kai Jie
- get the strength of people coming as this might affect the food catered
Welcome IC: Xian Jie
- think and prepare icebreakers, games.
- will be done before the dinner 10-15mins

I’ll explain this to the volunteers on the practice day itself. Pretty easy.
What every cell member needs to do?
1. EVERYONE please inform Kai Jie if you can make it for the outreach ASAP as we are closing to the deadline and we don't have much time left and lots of stuff to be done..... yikes.... Including friends you are brining on your impact list or otherwise (Max 2 friends)
2. Prepare whatever you have learnt during bacc that would be useful during the event. etc 5min testimony, transition question and answers, bridge, formula, story of judge methods. Taking in consideration which is best suited for you friend(s).
3. Inform me if your volunteering for the skit. Dont make me call you!!
Hurry get back to me !! We’ll hold at least 2 practice session next week between (fri-sun) 25th -27th . Each about 2hrs long max. Any changes let me know and please if your interested but have trouble with the timeslots let me know so we can work things out.
Guys I know there's lot to be done and i need volunteers, remember we are doing all these for God. So to prevent any regret that one did not help much, step out now. Trust me all things will turn out good for the LOVE of Jesus. So just do it!!
