23 Jan cell meeting

Dear cell,
Below is my script for the Word for our cell meeting on 23 Jan. Hope all of you have learnt a lot about whatever God used this Word to speak to you! Let us spur one another on [Heb 10:24] to reach the personal goals we have set, for we are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus! [Rom 8:37] =)

Here are my goals so that I can be accountable to all of you:
1. To write at least 2 reflections a week.
2. To meet chris kwan/chris yang at least once every 2 weeks.

Love,
Kev

1. Lately, I’ve learnt that an important aspect of being successful is to be able to set a direction and move towards it.
-> E.g. I want to be a good student for Jesus.

But a more important thing is what values we adopt and how we behave, when we move towards that direction.

The direction we want to reach and the values we adopt can be very clear cut but the challenge comes when we need to make decisions en route to the destination.
Firstly, how do we know we are moving in the desired direction?
-> we set SMART goals to keep ourselves in check.

Then, we have to ask ourselves, do our decisions align with our values?

When things are not going well, are we able to hold on to our values? Or do we compromise them?
The stress and emotions we are facing can overcome us in adverse situations.

2. Let us look at how Jesus moved towards His goal:
Matt 26:53 “Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? 54 But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?”

-> Simply, He laid down His rights, to fulfil Scriptures. Do we do the same?
3. Let us take time to set 3 goals: 1 for your own walk with God, 1 for cell mate, 1 for pre-believer whom you are reaching out to.

- Keep it short and sweet. We start small and work our way to greater things.
Matt 25:21 “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!”

- Freely express your talents and abilities!
Matt 25:15 … each according to his ability
Matt 25:29 For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.
